Community Engagement and Fundraising Assistant-Intern Position

North Centennial Manor

Contract • Kapuskasing Region

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing all event-related fundraising efforts for North Centennial Manor. They will be responsible in creating community-based relationships and manage key components of the new campaign launch.

Job Description:

  • Participate in and support the planning of the Homes’ fundraising campaign, and support the development of its donor recognition plan
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build positive relationships with donors, prospects, NCM staff, event attendees, sponsors, volunteers and members of the public.
  • Contribute to the campaign’s success by achieving daily fundraising goals
  • Work in collaboration with the other staff to enhance and execute a robust fundraising program (including supporting the execution of personalized stewardship plans for large-scale donors)
  • Aid in the development and delivery of reports, videos and other vehicles of communication to donors
  • Develop strategies to meet ambitious fundraising goals and achieve revenue growth.
  • Explore and use technology to maximize event-related fundraising revenues and enhance participant experience through online mediums.
  • Perform research to identify and qualify new community partnerships.
  • Produce reports and analyze results using donor database.

Candidate Criteria and Qualifications:

  • University degree or community college diploma in a related field
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the non-profit or charitable sector, event planning, media and community relations, considered an asset
  • Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field.
  • Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate.  
  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.
  • Able to communicate and write in both French and English, considered an asset

Compensation: As per NOHFC internship contract agreement
