Uptown Mechanical is an authorized Kenworth, Mack/Volvo, & Prevost Bus service center committed to delivering exceptional maintenance and repair services for heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Truck & Coach Technician to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Truck & Coach Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment
• Conduct inspections and identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering mechanisms, and suspension components
• Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot vehicle systems
• Perform preventative maintenance services (oil changes, tune-ups, inspections)
• Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience working with heavy-duty trucks 
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with electronic diagnostic tools and systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift heavy components and work in physically demanding conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PACCAR, Cummins, CAT, & Volvo engines and systems
• OEM training or certifications
• Previous dealership or service center experience
• Valid Truck & Coach Technician certification (310T)

Working Conditions

• Standing, bending, and lifting required throughout the shift
• Shift work and occasional overtime may be required
• Working outdoors when required for service calls
