Job Overview
The NOHFC Youth Intern for Membership Growth and Retention will assist the Chamber of Commerce in expanding its membership base and enhancing engagement with existing members. This is a fantastic opportunity for a youth candidate to gain real-world experience in business development, marketing, and member relations while contributing to the growth of the local business community.
Responsibilities:
- Membership Development:
- Research and identify potential new members within the community.
- Assist in outreach efforts, including phone calls, emails, and in-person visits.
- Support the development of new member onboarding strategies.
- Membership Retention:
- Engage with current members to assess satisfaction and identify ways to improve retention.
- Assist in planning and executing member appreciation events.
- Help manage membership records and update databases.
- Marketing & Communications:
- Assist in creating content for member communications, newsletters, and social media.
- Help develop marketing materials for membership drives and engagement initiatives.
- Support promotional campaigns aimed at enhancing the Chamber’s visibility.
- Event Support:
- Assist in the organization and coordination of Chamber events focused on membership growth, such as networking events and informational sessions.
- Help gather feedback from members to improve future events.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate membership records and prepare reports as needed.
- Assist with answering general inquiries about Chamber membership.
Qualifications:
- Interest in business, marketing, or community engagement.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Social media skills (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) are an asset.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
Eligibility:
- Must be between the ages of 20 – 29 and currently not working full-time as per funding program requirements.
- Local residency in Kapuskasing, Northern Ontario.
