Qualifications
5 years of experience in Carpentry is required.
Trade or vocational school graduate with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, mathematics, carpentry and wood-working is required.
Red Seal Carpenter license is required.
Working knowledge and ability to perform plumbing repairs.
Experience in painting, electrical, welding, brazing and mechanical repairs is required.
Ability to work alone or as part of the team.
The ability to manage shifting priorities based on changing operational needs is required.
Key Responsibilities
Designs and constructs cupboards, shelves, partitions, and others as per instruction.
Repairs and maintains buildings and equipment, e.g. doors, windows, floors, furniture, partitions.
Must be capable of using all hand and power tools.
Calculates quantity of materials needed and requisitions of lumber, hardware and other supplies from Department Head or designate.
Knowledge of blueprint reading and specifications to determine procedure for constructing articles and plumbing system.
Familiar with building code.
Ability to provide service in French and English is preferred.
Other duties as assigned.
